Over the past year, ERA4TB has made strides in its mission to accelerate the development of new treatment regimens for tuberculosis (TB), reinforcing its role as a leading collaborative platform in the fight against this global health challenge.

In celebration of the great work ERA4TB has done over the past year, we have put together a list of some of our key achievements:

In January 2025:

  • Diana Aguilar Ayala, from UNIZAR, attended a #Science4Industry event, talking about the Hollow Fibre System and drug development led by Work Package 2 members.

In February 2025:

  • Guilia Manina from Institute Pasteur de Lille and Priscille Brodin from INSERM, travelled to Hyderabad, India to present at the EMBO workshop on host and pathogen heterogeneity in tuberculosis. Priscille presented a presentation on Host-Pathogen Interaction (HPI) benchmarking work that has been taking place within the ERA4TB project.

In March 2025:

  • ERA4TB consortium members celebrated International Women’s Day. This was one of our most successful social media campaigns, with over 5,600 people reached via LinkedIn! This campaign featured interviews from some of our amazing colleagues from across the different work packages on why they felt it is important for women to be involved in TB research.

In May 2025:

  • The ERA4TB 9th Annual Consortium Meeting took place in Zaragoza, Spain. This event brought members of our Consortium together with a series of in-person and online presentations by renowned experts in TB and medicines development.

In July 2025:

  • Colleagues from University of Zaragoza attended the Gordon Research Conference. Ainhoa delivered a presentation on in vitro models, which was well received by audience members. Santiago Ramon Garcia and Juan Calvert, also from UNIZAR, hosted poster panel sessions.

In September 2025:

  • Colleagues from both University of Pavia and University of Zaragoza, attended the Sharper Night 2025 celebrations. Consortium members hosted interactive stands in both Pavia, Italy and Zaragoza, Spain for young audience members to participate and learn about the purpose of ERA4TB and its goal for defeating TB.

In October 2025:

  • As part of ERA4TB’s consortium, NICE and the World Health Organization hosted a joint webinar on ‘Innovating Access: Tackling Anti-Microbial Resistance Through Policy’. This webinar was well attended by a diverse audience.The webinar recording can be found here:

As we move into the new year, we wish everyone a very festive break. We look forward to celebrating more of our successes for 2026, as we fight to end the TB epidemic by 2030.
