On 8 October 2025, ERA4TB will host the next session in its ongoing webinar series on the intersection of clinical research, health economics, and policy.
This event, organised in collaboration with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organization (WHO), will focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) – recognised by WHO as one of the top 10 global health threats.
With growing resistance undermining existing treatments, there is an urgent need for innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based policy to secure sustainable access to antibiotics worldwide. This one-hour webinar, “Innovating Access – Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance through Policy and Partnerships”, will bring together leading experts to explore how health systems can respond to the challenge.
Guest speakers:
- Sophie Cooper (NICE) – sharing lessons from England’s groundbreaking subscription model for antimicrobials
- Manuel Alexander Haasis (WHO) – introducing the Novel Medicines Platform, which supports the development of innovative medicines in the fight against AMR
- Michael Anderson (WHO/LSE) – presenting insights from his work on incentivising and aligning antibiotic innovation with equitable access
Why attend?
Participants will gain:
- Insights into how England’s novel payment model is reshaping the way antibiotics are valued and delivered.
- An overview of global incentive frameworks for antibiotic R&D.
- An understanding of how international partnerships are creating new pathways for sustainable access.
- The opportunity to join a live Q&A with leading voices in AMR policy and innovation.
