On the 25th and 26th January, more than 100 representatives of ERA4TB partners had the opportunity to meet in person at the 6th ERA4TB Consortium Meeting to share updates and upcoming project activities for the second half of the project. The event was hosted by the Institut Pasteur Paris.
A day before the 6th Consortium Meeting, a satellite workshop on ‘Biomarkers of tuberculosis treatment efficacy’ was organised by the Research Center Borstel (FZB), Bioaster Fondation de Cooperation Scientifique (BAR) and Consiglio Nazionale delle Richerche (CNR).
Discussions during the Consortium Meeting focused on presentations from all ERA4TB partners on assets’ progression and capacity creation (mainly in in vivo, imaging and in vitro). Other relevant topics such as data flows and platforms, project management and sustainability, were also presented at the event as critical aspects of the project at this stage.
To conclude the meeting, members of the ERA4TB Scientific Advisory Board, Gilla Kaplan and Francesca Conradie provided their feedback and suggestions to achieve the project objectives successfully. Gilla Kaplan/Francesca Conradie (SAB member) stressed some project strengths:
‘One of the strengths of the project is that new assets are being utilised and developed in a sustainable manner’
‘The willingness to bring in assets and work with others, bringing together expertise and experience, is a strength of this group’
We thank all the participants for this extremely productive event, and we are very much looking forward to meeting everyone again for the 7th Consortium Meeting next summer!
